A signed contract is one of the most sensitive files a person handles: names, addresses, identifiers, amounts, and a reusable image of your signature in a single document. Where the signing happens decides who else could ever see it.

Most online signing sites work by uploading: the PDF travels to a server, is processed there, and comes back. From that moment a copy exists outside your control — retained for some period, possibly backed up, subject to that company's policies and to whatever happens to that company later. For a random form this may be acceptable. For an employment contract, a lease, or anything with an ID number in it, it is a real disclosure.
On-device signing keeps the file where it is
The alternative is a tool that opens and renders the PDF locally and writes the signed file locally too — the document never travels. A practical test: turn off the network and try to sign. Protect the signature image itself
Your saved signature is reusable by anyone who has the file. Keep it on the device rather than in a shared drive or a chat thread, and do not email a bare signature PNG to anyone — send the signed document instead. If you ever suspect the image has spread, draw a new one; a slightly different signature is the cheapest possible remedy.

Is a signed PDF safe to send over email?
It is normal practice, but email is not private by design. For high-value documents, prefer a password-protected file or a channel both sides already trust.
Should I delete the signed copy afterwards?
Keep it — it is your evidence of what you agreed to. What is worth deleting is the loose signature image sitting in a downloads folder or a chat.
